Frequently Asked Questions

Made In USA, 1 Year Factory Warranty

The radios have a 2 mile line of sight range.  Any obstructions reduce the distance including glass windows, walls, trees, truck traffic, and piles of material.  While planning installation, adding a remote antenna cable, mounting the antenna outside of the building, or higher location on a pole can improve range.  B-TEK can quote custom remote cables and antennas, but does not have standard products created in our inventory.

The amount of radios is unlimited, To “talk” with each other, radios must be programmed identically for Quiet Call code, as well as frequency. Each code is unique; radios respond only to the code programmed.  There are 8 channels available to separate conversations to different areas.

Yes, the button on the front of the Q-Series is a push to talk button.  It also turns on the call box is battery saver mode, or power saver mode is enabled when using the D-Cell Batteries for power.  If using the 120VAC adapter, the power modes can be disabled and radios can remain on at all times.

This depends on the frequency programmed in the radios.  The 5 VHF MURS frequencies do not require an FCC license.  If programmed for other Non MURS VHF frequencies, you will need to submit for an FCC license for the frequency being used.
