The Vehicle Loop Detector Kit is an alert system designed for installation in the concrete approach of a truck scale. The induction loop senses a vehicle as it nears the platform and sends a signal to disable transactions or trigger alerts. Each kit includes preformed loops, detectors, and a prewired enclosure for simple field setup.

Details
The Vehicle Loop Detector Kit helps prevent unintended transactions and provides clear feedback as trucks approach the scale. The loop is installed in the concrete approach roughly half a foot from the scale. When a truck moves near the loop, the metal in the vehicle slightly changes the loop’s resistance. The detector reads this change and closes a contact wired to the scale indicator. If the vehicle is not fully on the platform, the contact will remain active to stop a transaction until the truck advances into the correct position.
The system arrives with the transformer and detectors mounted and wired inside the junction box to reduce installation time. Terminal blocks make field connections straightforward with dedicated points for power, the loop leads and the LED beacon. The preformed loops are available in two sizes and are built with rugged tubing and integrated lightning protection for long-term durability in concrete, saw cut and tar installations.
The kit provides both audio and visual signaling through a multi-channel beacon with adjustable volume levels. It supports applications such as truck positioning, on-scale alerts and dual-zone detection for attended or unattended scale environments.
