Drum Scale Backstop Stainless Steel Finish Upgrade
This stainless finish upgrade applies only to the optional Drum Scale backstop and must be purchased in addition to the backstop or associated Drum Scale itself. Offered in two upgrade options—passivation or passivation with electropolishing—to improve corrosion resistance, sanitation and durability in wet, chemical or cleanroom environments.

The Drum Scale backstop can be enhanced with stainless finish treatments designed to resist rust and simplify cleaning under challenging conditions.

Passivation chemically removes surface iron and fabrication residues to restore the stainless steel’s protective oxide layer and strengthen corrosion resistance.

Passivation with Electropolishing adds electrochemical smoothing, delivering a micro-smooth, reflective surface that reduces bacterial retention and facilitates sanitization.
This upgrade is recommended for operations in food processing, chemical or pharmaceutical facilities—and for Drum Scale configurations used with or without detachable ramps or portability kits—where exposure to moisture, chemicals or frequent washdown is prevalent.
